Fresh Engineers face following challenges in matching the Industry Expectation:
- The curriculum teaches them to prepare a broad base through general concept level basic foundation for many diverse domains, of which very few turn out to be practically relevant; but industry expects “working level” competence in those.
- Most Educational Institutes are unable to provide adequate “Hands ON” training and familiarity with high technology manufacturing equipment.
- At best they may just about “understand” the equipment and processes but they are unable to “do it themselves”. They simply do not get the feel of working in an industry while they are at campus.
- Even if they do get trained by Industry “on the job”; they remain restricted to their specific limited exposure for a long time. This restricts their onward mobility.
